Grand Ol' Lady, "Her Majesty Queen Arnuk",
(Ch Kipmik's At'Sa Lotta Woman ADC CGC TT),
attended the AMCA Area Specialty in conjuction with the
Palisades Kennel Club show in Augusta, New Jersey, winning Best in Veteran Sweepstakes
under breeder/judge Vicky Jones. Kita,
(Ch Kipmik's Prime Suspect), took third place
in the Bred By class under judge Judith Goodin, and followed with second place the next day
at the Affiliate Specialy under judge Donald Jones. Great weather, great company, great
friends. Thanks to all my American friends who welcomed us so warmly, and to the hard-working
individuals who did what it took to make these Specialties a success.

Eko (Ch Kipmik's Hot To Trot FMCH),
attended her final flyball tournament for 2004, picking up 577 more points. Although
she played with her usual unsatiable enthusiasm, her time was slightly slower due to
her current condition. Eko will be
whelping her third and final litter at the end of October, a repeat breeding of
her first litter with Kobuk (A/C Ch Kipmik's
Kampaign Promise A/C CD CGC).

Eko (Ch Kipmik's Hot To Trot FMCH),
made breed history this weekend by accumulating an unprecendented 15,000
points in flyball making her the only Alaskan Malamute with a Flyball Masters
Champion title. In my wildest dreams, I never believed that a Malamute would
reach this plateau in this non-Malamute game, but we are now looking forward
to trying to attain the next level. Congratulations, Eko, you're
unbelievable!!!

This was definitely a bittersweet weekend at Kipmik. The sweetness
was that Eko (Ch Kipmik's Hot To Trot FMX) picked up the necessary points in
flyball to obtain her Flyball Masters Excellent title with an unprecedented 10,000 points. Since Eko was the
only Alaskan Malamute to achieve the 5,000 points required for her Flyball Masters title, she is also the only
Malamute to ever obtain a Flyball Masters Excellent. Wow, this girl is truly amazing!
The bitter part of the weekend is that we lost our Zak
(Ch Kipmik's Littlest Hobo) suddenly and with
little warning. In true Malamute style, Zak
had stoically hidden any effect from a massive intestinal tumor until it was too late. Zak is the son of Ch
Adair'N'Hug's Stratigic Move and my Arnuk
(A/C Ch Kipmik's At'Sa Lotta Woman ADC CGC TT CAM). He sired the Grand Sweeps winner at the Sturbridge
Regional last year (owned by Alison Postma), and is the father of our Rokki and Skye, as well as the
puppies now at Kipmik. His loss is a stunning blow. |
