Kaia - "the pretty one", or so I have heard her described.
Kaia began her show career by winning Grand Sweeps at the AMCC National Specialty in Winnipeg under
breeder/judge Ron Pohl. She completed her Canadian championship in a snap but took her time to pick up those
four majors in the States. I must admit that I only showed her at Specialties and she ended up with a ton of
those darn "reserve" ribbons. When the winners ribbons did start coming, they came big and didn't stop.
Her most exciting win was Best of Winners at the AMCA Area Specialty in West Springfield, Massachusetts,
and taking home the coveted Eva B. Seeley trophy.
Unfortunately, repeated attempts to breed Kaia were unsuccessful for a variety of reasons which
originally appeared
surmountable. But all ended with an emergency spay due to a closed pyometra which almost took her life.
Although she was not expected to survive, she disagreed and is a healthy, happy girl today. Too bad no
puppies. Her kids would have been wonderful!
